Metaphysical Properties of Crystals

Metaphysical properties have been taken from Melody's Love Is In The Earth, and from personal and client experiences.

AJOITE	Can bring in a celestial energy, opening a channel from Heaven to earth (ones body). Eliminates hostility – even toward oneself, also eliminates anger, environment, As this clearing occurs, it creates space for the soul. Produces a melding between heart and throat chakra and facilitates speaking from the heart. Peacefulness and joyful acceptance of ones surroundings.

AMETHYST	The highest vibration color of the rainbow, purple. Stone of "spirituality and contentment", transmutes lower energies into higher frequencies, clears the aura and stabilizes and transmutes any dysfunctional energy in ones body. Bestows stability, strength, invigoration and peace. Provides a sense of common sense, flexibility in decisions, encourages and supports sobriety.

ANGLESITE	We use this crystal for meditation and stillness. Reported to facilitate contact with entities "on the other side", channeling. Allows one to stay grounded during communication with entities from worlds other than the Earth plane, loving energy allows for open communication with others with respect to spiritual issues. Helps to bring forth dreams into this reality.

APOPHYLLITE	We find that apophyllite enhances Reiki frequencies during sessions or for oneself. Sometimes its fun to lay down and put one of the pyramids on ones forehead. Creates a conscious connection between the physical form and the spiritual realm, allows one to recognize and act upon the truth in all situations. Helps one to realize that the state of perfection is the natural state of being, brings light and energy to ones being, and love to ones heart.

AZURITE	“Stone of heaven.” Stimulates pursuit of the heavenly self, providing for guidance via the 3rd eye and allowing for precise verbalization of psychic experiences. Awakens development of the psychic self and provides for insight into all areas of ones life. Enhances creativity and helps to eliminate indecisions and worries. Stimulates 3rd eye, psychic and intuitive selves.

CALCITE	Some people use calcite to smooth the electromagnetic field. Energy amplifier. Useful in multi-directional energy distribution, clears and activates all chakras. Helps mind to remember information received during astral travel and channeling and helps body to remember, during disease, the state of perfection – in order to return to the natural state of flawlessness.

CELESTITE	Celestite got its name for its beautiful celestial color and angel connections. Good for mental activities, attunes one to heightened powers of rationality, allows one to recall and acknowledge both ones spirituality and the gifts of the Divine. Stone for balance, stabilizes yin-yang values within ones energy field. Excellent for dream recall, provides for access to, and transfer of, information from the purity of the angelic realms, a “bright hope” in days of despair, bringing calmness and harmony to ones life.

CHRYSOCOLLA	Revitalizes and calms the base, naval and solar plexus chakras. At heart chakra, helps to ease emotional heartache and gives renewed strength and balance, increases ones capacity to love. Helps one to become attuned to the Earth and can help one to understand that which is required in order that the Earth may heal itself. Can produce great inner strength, promotes and enhances physical vitality.

CITRINE	Citrine has a nice warm sunshine energy. Dissipates negative energy, never needs to be cleared. Thru the solar plexus, helps to direct personal power, creativity and intelligent decisiveness, to enhance the physical body, stimulates mental focus and endurance, helps one to dispense with fear, brightens the darkest corners of ones perceived reality and helps one to laugh without restraint. Allows for clarification of problems relating to the intellect and emotions.

EMERALD	“Stone of successful love.” Said to provide for domestic bliss and to instill loyalty, both within the self and within others. Used to enhance memory, helps to combine intelligence with discernment, opens, activates and stimulates the heart chakra while helping to quiet the emotions. Brings harmony to all areas of ones life.

ERYTHRITE	Provides a strong and flowing connection between all of the chakras, brings harmony to communications, can help one to “see in many directions” and to assimilate the knowledge coming from looking within oneself, into ones environment, and into the auric field, can produce answers concerning health and development issues.

FLUORITE	We like green fluorite for its spring like rejuvenation and mental focus. Discourages chaotic, disruptive, disorganized growth, stabilizes and produces order within the mental, physical, emotional and spiritual systems. Helps to impart impartiality, stone of discernment, increases ability to concentrate, balances positive and negative relationships of the mind, encourages and sustains the flawless ideal of health, intellect and emotional well-being.

FULGURITE	Earth or sand fused by lightning strike to form a hollow specimen.. Enhances communication on the physical plane, and strengthens connections with other worlds, can be used to alleviate distractions and to intensify concentration, can also facilitate clairaudient experiences and flashes of insight.

GARNET	I like garnets because they can help open “bubbling well” in the feet to receive from the Earth. “Stone of health”. Extracts negative energy from the chakras and transmutes the energy. Produces expansiveness in awareness and manifestation, enhances ones internal fire, also knows as “stone of commitment” – to purpose, to others, and to oneself. Balances and stimulates development and movement of the kundalini, stimulates a calming stable vitality during use.

HEMATITE	Used for grounding, merging with the Earth, being present. It is an iron mineral; we have iron in our blood. Helps one to realize that the only limitations which exist are those self-limiting concepts within the mind. Can stimulate the desire for, and attainment of peace, self-contral, and inner happiness. Attracts “kind” love.

JET	Fossilized coal. We use jet after healing sessions, to draw energy out of the body, through the hands. Then we rinse them and place them on the Earth. Can dispel fearful thoughts, can be used to protect wearer against illness and violence. Assists one during the pursuit of business and enhances the stability of ones finances. Calming, can diminish depression.

KUNZITE	Aligns heart chakra with the throat and 3rd eye chakras, helps to produce loving thoughts and loving communication. Connects one to the infinite source of love, provides purification on all levels, can be used to remove obstacles from ones path. Can be used to dispel possession from outside influences/entities. Helps to attain deep meditative state, dispels static unfocused energy and provides for rhythmic centering, promotes maturity in thought and action while maintaining the openness of a child.

LABRADORITE	During workshops, people have used this stone to alleviate fear. Facilitates transformation of intuition into intellectual thought such that one can implement the instructions provided. It assists one to traverse changes, attracting strength and perseverance. Provides clarity and annihilation of disturbing thoughts. Helps one to advance through the cycles of progression, provides for a vitality and for a sense of “self” during transitions.

LAPIS	The stone of heaven, midnight blue. The pyrite in lapis helps us to be present as well. It represents the forces of initiation into wisdom and the mystical realm. “Stone of total awareness”. Helping to expand awareness and intellectual capacity, allowing for conscious attunement to the intuitive and psychic aspects of ones nature. Enables one to obtain relief from that which has been suppressed.

LEPIDOLITE	Calming and soothing. It contains lithium. Activates the throat, heart and third eye chakras, Opens the crown chakra and allows for the flowering of the inner blue lotus, assisting one to become aware of the subtle vibratory energies both within and without the self. Used for stress reduction and to alleviate despondency. Combines the energy of diplomacy with direction and unimpeded communication. Can induce the attribute of self-love, bringing a child-like love and acceptance to the user, while allowing for the aspect of trust to flourish. Assists one in openness and honesty.

MALACHITE	This stone is a copper mineral, and some people use the darker ones for drawing out negative energy. An excellent stone for clarifying the emotions and for allowing for both the recognition and release of negative experiences which one cannot recall, Helps one to accept responsibility for ones actions, circumstances, and actuality. Stimulates instinctive and intuitive reasoning, allowing for change which facilitates advancement. Represents fidelity in love and friendship, loyalty in partnerships, and practicality and responsibility in business transactions. In Druse form, facilitates both the rise of spirituality and the enhancement of psychic abilities. The stalactitic form also encourages progression toward the spiral of infinite wisdom, while providing strength for the journey.

PAPAGOITE	Very rare! Emits a gentle and tranquilizing energy. Assists one in speaking with love and clarity. A stone for unification, helping in the alignment of the physical, emotional, intellectual, spiritual, astral, and ethereal bodies, and within all aspects of ones life. Provides for an optimistic and broad-minded outlook. Can assist one in the attainment of a state of extreme beauty and delight. Conducive to removing discordant notes of stress and interference from ones life.

PYRITE	Possesses a defending quality and is an excellent preventive, which will shield one from many forms of negative energy. The shielding works on the physical, etheric, and emotional levels. Helps to keep away all forms of negative vibrations. Can inspire the universal energies to activate the nourishing of the body, assisting one in the attainment of the ultimate state of physical perfection. It symbolizing the warmth and lasting presence of the sun and promotes the recall of memories of love and friendship. Assists one in seeing behind facades.

RIEBECKITE	Very rare! Can be used to encourage alteration in situations which inhibit ones growth. Can be used to bring one friendship and to facilitate cheerfulness. Can assist in providing guidance and insight to the solution of puzzling situations, encouraging the problem-solving capabilities inherent in the user. Tends to remind one of over-extensions of self.

ROSE QUARTZ	Perhaps the most gentle energy of all crystals, reinstates the loving gentle forces of self-love. It provides the message that there is no need for haste in any situation, bring calmness and clarity to the emotions and restoring the mind to harmony after chaotic or crisis situations. Can be used for spiritual attunement to the energy of love. Brings peacefulness and calm to relationships. Promotes receptivity to the beauty of art, music, and the written word.

SMOKEY QUARTZ	An excellent grounding stone, the energy of this stone can penetrate and can transform negative emotions and negative energy patterns. It tends to penetrate and to dissolve energy fields which have been generated from negative thought forms, anger and resentment. Enhances attentiveness to the moment and is a protective stone.

SPHALERITE	We like this stone for vitality. Can be used to balance both the male and female aspects of the personality. Can enhance ones intuitive qualities and allows one to be able to distinguish between fraudulent and genuine psychic and channeled information. Can provide growth of ones psychic abilities and encourages one to “be ones own psychic”. Can provide for protection from negative forces which may be present when dealing with the public.

SPINEL	This mineral can be used to renew energy and to provide encouragement for further attempts at difficult tasks. Can be used to enhance ones appearance, to increase the positive aspects of ones personality, and to assist in obtaining, maintaining, and accepting the victory with humility. The energy of beauty. Brings freshness to all endeavors and initiates rejuvenation to that which is beginning to degrade.

STILBITE	Some people use this stone in conjunction with Reiki. Provides for a powerful and loving energy in creativity and intuitive endeavors. Can be used to assist one in obtaining the astral state and helps to provide guidance while one is above the world.

SUGILITE	Sugilite with black (manganese), can help to transmute and draw out negative energy. Brings about the realization of the connection between the well-being of the body and the well-being of the mind. Attracts healing power. The energy of this mineral flows from the crown to the base chakra, opening the chakras and providing a pathway for the movement of the Kundalini. Can assist in reminding the user of the reasons for being in the physical body and for living on the Earth plane. Helps one to forgive oneself and others, enhancing ones understanding of the lessons which have been chosen for this visit to the physical realm. For discouragement or despair, sugilite may be placed at the third-eye and one may breath-in the comforting energy.

TOPAZ	“Stone of true love and success in all endeavors.” Can promote individuality and creativity, while providing for confidence in trusting ones decisions. It acts to replace negativity with love and joyfulness. The “crystal of potency”, instrumental in visualization (for healing and/or attracting), in meditation , and in projection. It helps one to absorb that which is needed from the universe, prompting receptivity and willingness to act. This stone is 9 in hardness, a stone of personal power. It helps one to creatively change ones personal world, enhancing awareness and inducing the states of expansiveness and manifestation.

TOURMALINE	Tourmaline comes in many colors, truly a stone of beauty. Can be used to attract inspiration, to diminish fear by promoting understanding, and to encourage self-confidence. Can stimulate balance between the left and right sides of the brain, and to enhance cooperative efforts in the areas of creativity and healing. It helps one to look within the depths of ones being with as much belief in the reality of the inner world as one maintains for the outer world. Helps one to release the concept of being a victim and to maintain fortitude and laughter.

TURQUOISE	Melds together the energies of the heavens with the consciousness of Mother Earth. A healer of the spirit, providing for a soothing energy and brings peace of mind. Helps to guide one through the unknown, protecting while promoting ones independence in action. Can protect against environmental pollutants. Assists one in communication, both oral and written, such that, that which is relayed to others is direct and correct. Induces wisdom and understanding, enhances trust, kindness, and the recognition of natural beauty.

ZINCITE	We have repeatedly found that zincite is the most effective crystal to move energy. Provides for the synthesis of personal power, physical energy, and creativity, producing a stimulation of the electric currents within the body and facilitating the removal or gradual dissipation of energy blockages. Helps to bring together those of like mind. Useful in promoting the group effort, interlocking and providing for the unification of the resultant effects.
